Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of optic nerve head in Papilledema

چکیده

Abstract Background Papilledema is optic disc pathology characterized by swelling of the occurring secondary to elevated intracranial pressure (ICP), and it was proposed that ICP transferred along subarachnoid space nerve (ON) leading metabolic process interruptions MRI changes within ON head. This study aimed rule out if DWI ADC map can be used as a diagnostic tool for detection papilledema values helpful in grading. Result value significantly lower cases group (A) comparison with control (B). Conclusion Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) utilized diagnosis papilledema, grade.

The Role of Diffusion-Weighted Imaging and the Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) Values for Breast Tumors

OBJECTIVE We wanted to evaluate the role of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) for detecting breast tumors, as compared with the T1- and T2-weighted images. MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-one female patients underwent breast MRI, and this included the T1-, T2-, DWI and dynamic contrast-enhanced images. Sixty-five enhancing lesions were detected on the d...

The Utility of Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) Using Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) Values in Discriminating Between Prostate Cancer and Normal Tissue

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to investigate the utility of diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) using Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) values in discriminating between patients with tumors and normal prostate tissue before the initial systematic core biopsy. The relationship between histological grade of prostate cancer and ADC values in the peripheral zone was also investigated. MATE...

Diffusion-weighted imaging in the head and neck region: usefulness of apparent diffusion coefficient values for characterization of lesions.

PURPOSE We aimed to evaluate the role of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values calculated from diffusion-weighted imaging for head and neck lesion characterization in daily routine, in comparison with histopathological results. METHODS Ninety consecutive patients who underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at a university hospital for diagnosis of neck lesions were included in this p...

rhabdomyosarcoma metastasis to the breast: appearance on diffusion-weighted imaging and apparent diffusion coefficient sequences

rhabdomyosarcoma is a common primary childhood malignancy that rarely metastasizes to the breast. we report a patient with a primary sinonasal rhabdomyosarcoma metastasizing to the breast, with no distant spread. we describe the imaging appearance of rhabdomyosarcoma on magnetic resonance imaging (mri), particularly on diffusion-weighted imaging (dwi) and apparent diffusion coefficient (adc) se...
